Dylan Thompson Gets Drafted

Ian Guerin of The Sun News reports via Twitter that Socastee’s Dylan Thompson has been drafted to Seattle in the 4th round of the MLB Draft. He is the second Highest High School Player ever drafted from our area. Be sure to follow Ian & Socastee Athletics on Twitter @iguerin    @SHSBravesSports

Socastee loses non-region game at home to St. James 4-2. Next game at home on Tuesday versus Sumter.

Braves beat Conway

The Socastee Braves Baseball team got back on the winning track with a region win over Conway 3-0. Ryan Beale had a 2 rbi base hit and Finn Melko added two hits. Austin Schmitz threw 6 shutout innings and Peter Feterovitch got the save. Next game is Friday 6:30 at home versus West Florence. Go

Braves Varsity Baseball beats Carolina Forest

Braves varsity baseball opened the season at Carolina Forest with a shutout victory 4-0. Austin Schmitz pitched six innings and Jon Yarbrough finished the seventh. Offensively Buc Bacot led the way with three hits with Daniel Covert, Dylan Thompson, Jon Yarbough and Justin Farria adding hits as well.

Socastee JV Baseball gets second win

Braves JV baseball wins big versus Christian Academy 17-0. The Braves had the bats going early and often throughout the game. Strong outing by starting pitcher Fox Wagner as he threw 4 innings of shutout ball striking out 10.

Socastee Braves JV Baseball defeats Myrtle Beach

Socastee Baseball started the season strong with a 3-2 win over rival Myrtle Beach. The Braves jumped out early to a 3-0 lead and the defense never gave it up. Caleb Vaught threw six strong innings scattering five hits with Jordan Bridges closing it out.
